Kalakars Actors Programs

Kalakars-SAIE/SAWIE Actors’ Practice Sessions

Kalakars, in collaboration with South Asians in Entertainment and South Asian Women in Entertainment, conducts fortnightly practice sessions for actors who want to practice their monologues and scenes with other actors. The sessions are facilitated by Kalakars-SAIE/SAWIE moderators who are professional, established actors. Every few weeks, guest speakers from the industry also share their knowledge, struggle and tips to become better actors and land gigs.

KALAKARS SPRING 2022 ACTORS WORKSHOP

Applications are CLOSED. We will return in the fall.

Every year, Kalakars organizes actors’ workshops that pair participants with writers/directors who are workshopping their scripts at the Kalakars writers’ workshop. The workshop provides an opportunity for participants to strengthen their skills, meet industry folks and be part of a community to build relationships with - because all film work starts with collaboration! We are currently accepting applications for our spring actors workshop.
